Remarking on their similarity to chessboards, Peruvian artist Miriam Chipana draws inspiration from pre-Columbian textiles to create this intricate and vibrant composition. She divides the canvas into an 8x11 grid, decorating each square with a unique and distinct design, such as houses and flowers, as well as geometric and abstract shapes. Each component of this painting comes together to form a kaleidoscope of ancient and modern culture.

"fabulous painting"
The painting is in the style of Klee but is its own manifestation of expression, surrealism, and childlike fancifulness. The remarkable combination of colors and choice of shapes and symbols is first rate. I was really lucky to get this true work of art. It hangs prominently in my gallery.

"Love this Quilty Painting!"
I bought this painting for my wife who is a quilt maker. When I first viewed it, It reminded me of some of her colorful quilts. I was quite surprised to see it described as crazy quilt landscape. I love the patchwork composition of organic and geometric shapes as well as the bright and earthtone colors that connect man with mother Earth. This painting hangs as a center focus in out main living area. Well created Miriam! We love it!
