Ruling the Mayan kingdom during the seventh century, Queen Kalomt'e K'abel is depicted in this stunning mask from El Salvador. Oscar Rodolfo Mendoza creates the mask, which is handcrafted from ceramic and painted by hand with natural brown and red pigments derived from the achiote plant. A nylon cord on the back allows it to be hung on a wall.
