Delivery EstimateAnother masterpiece from the renowned workshop of Samuel Lovi. Handcrafted in a tribal motif with a modern look, this vase is an eye-catching example of the point where tradition meets contemporary technique.
Clay abounds in the southern part of Ghana; it takes an expert, however, to get the sand in the clay thoroughly washed out. To fashion this piece, Lovi first prepares and molds the clay. He then fires the molded piece in a kiln at high temperatures, ensuring that it is hardened to the required strength. After cooling, it is hand-painted with kaolin and oils, providing its distinctive appearance. A wonderful home adornment, this item is perfect for placement in the corner of a room or on a shelf.

"Pottery Collection"
