Gun over his shoulder, a man in uniform walks through a forest marred by the trunks of felled trees. An ax in one of them signals the intention for more destruction. In one hand, he carries the rabbit he has shot. "I protest the aggression against our flora and fauna," Ezequias says. "I am indignant! This painting refers to a fatal blow to nature that is 'almost dead.'"
