Hand carved by Ghanaian artisan Salihu Ibrahim, this mask echoes the style of the distinctive and striking masks of the Bwa people of Burkina Faso. The mask is worn by male dancers during festivals and represents the sun. Two large eyes peer out from circles of shining rays, all carved from native sese wood and painted in earthen tones.
