Awudu Saaed designs this original mask in honor of tradition. He carves the sese wood mask by hand featuring painted details in yellow, green, red, and white over brown. Saaed adorns the forehead with a gong, used by many West African tribes. Akan and Ashanti linguists would use the gongs to call people's attention to an announcement from the chief.
