Bold stripes alternate colors, suggesting the strong bonds of friendship. Dramatic and beautiful, this traditional mask comes from the Akan people of Ghana. Ernestina Oppong Asante sculpts sese wood into a perfect oval with round eyes and mouth. She names this design Kae Daabi, meaning "remember someday." "Sometimes in our life we don't remember the good things our friends have done for us," she says.
