From Victoria Agyepomaa, this sculpture captures the essence of motherhood in Ghana. This woman straps her baby to her back as she works the fields with a hoe, for custom dictates that she keep her child close to her and nourish her development through the early years. The sese wood sculpture is carved by hand, and her skirt and shawl are painted a lovely turquoise shade.
