A mask for offering thanks and requesting protection carved by hand by Abdul Aziz Mohamadu. The admirable African rubberwood mask is known as zangora (God is alive), and bears the artistry of the Zariya and Zanfarch people of Nigeria. The forehead is emblazoned with the Gye Nyame Adinkra symbol embossed in aluminum. It proclaims God's supremacy. Originating in Ghana, Adinkra symbols have also been adopted in Nigeria.
