Obosomase is a small township near Aburi in Eastern Ghana. Literally, obosom ase means "under the influence of God." The title alludes to a fetish healer who is garbed in all the essences of his spiritual profession. Prince Amartey presents a captivating "horror" mask, its prominent features - such as the forehead, cheeks and mouth - exemplifying the patience and artistic cunning of a master. Adorned with aluminum plates and brass accents, the beard of stringy jute fibers completes the imposing allure.
The work is treated with a light layer of china clay (kaolin) and white wood mix to provide an antique-like effect.

"Impressive mask but colors seem faded"
This is an impressive mask. The only negative feedback I have is that the colors contrast in the picture are not what the mask shows. The colors or shades in the mask are very faded and almost without contrast. That is why I gave it a 3-star rating. But still, it is a nice mask to have on your wall.
