Bali's legendary hand-painted batik brings island beauty a set of three rayon face masks by Desak Nyoman Parwati. Contoured for comfort, the double-layer masks depict cheerful fish on navy blue, turquoise and cherry red. They are washable and reusable, and feature elastic to loop over the ears.

"If you have to wear a mask...these are pretty"

"Beautiful and Breathable"
I love these face masks. The material is soft on the face and the size fits perfect. The straps do not cut into the back of your ears. The dark blue, light blue, and fuchsia masks are true to their colors as they appear on the website. I recommend these to anyone as you won t be disappointed!

"Lovely and Unique but sometimes it slips"
This is very beautiful, soft and comfortable; I feel protected in it. But only if I wear it so the fish is upside down! Otherwise - right side up - it slips.

"Super Comfortable and Luxurious"
Love it...I am a size 1X and it fits. Don?t work around stove or sink with those sleeves though, they are long and cannot be rolled up - obviously. I love the feel of the fabric, light and soft. Colour is gorgeous.

"Beautiful robe - exactly like photos"
Just as described, really nice colors and soft to the touch. The size and length are exactly as described, it looks the same or better than the photos. High quality fabric and impeccable stitching. Arrived sooner than I was expecting, packed in a nice little fabric case that matches the robe. I highly recommend, great experience all around. Thank-you to the artisan for creating something so beautiful.

From her, she learned not only the art of batik and textile design but also how to care for her workers. In her workshop, Desak and the older artisans generously teach their art to the younger artisans, preserving for another generation this UNESCO cultural treasure.
Desak Nyoman Parwati has received 3 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $2800 and the most recent for $4000. Proceeds were used to invest in the purchase of textiles and batik dyes to increase production in time for the holiday season.
Through perseverance, Desak has grown her workshop. She now employs members of her family and give jobs to other artisans in her community.
The Women's Empowerment badge is awarded to female artisans or artisan groups that are led by women.
Desak works hard to care for her three children and does all she can to give them a better life.
