Serpentine Jewelry

Believed to inspire respect for the elderly, longevity, retrieval of ancient wisdom and remembrance of past lives, serpentine comes in shades of green, olive, ochre, brown and black. The stone is so named because it is thought to resemble a snake's skin, and finer specimens can be mistaken for jade. New Zealand's Maori people carved serpentine objects called tangiwai, or "tears."

Novica introduces serpentine jewelry from talented artisans and silversmiths around the world. The stone is especially popular with our Andean jewelers such as Patricia Jara and Claudia Lira and Zoila Tassara. Patricia Jara's designs are modern, but their bold geometry recalls Inca monuments. Claudia Lira favors circular shapes for silver necklaces and gemstone pendants. Zoila Tassara's work is lacy and feminine; she creates serpentine, sodalite and rose quartz necklaces crocheted by hand from strands of pure silver.

Our Serpentine Jewelry Collection features predominantly sterling silver pieces set with unique serpentine accents. Our distinctive assortment of serpentine necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings includes something for every occasion.
