Taxco Silver Necklaces

(182 items)

Explore NOVICA's Taxco Earrings Collection. High in the Sierra Madre Mountains, Taxco silversmiths made gifts for the Aztec gods long before the Spaniards arrived; but it took the persistant vision of American architect William Spratling, credited with fathering the modern Mexican silver movement, to put Taxco on the jewelry collector's map. Spratling's vision lives on in the amazing handcrafted silver earrings created by talented Taxco Jewelry artisans.

Taxco Silver Necklaces

Originally from Rome, artist Roberto Salvato came to Taxco, Mexico to refine his passion for theater and his love of creating jewelry as props. Roberto’s Taxco sterling silver necklaces are designed after his plays and incorporate pieces of Mexican culture as well. With hints of pre-Hispanic artistry, Roberto’s Taxco silver jewelry pendant, ‘Glowing Glamour’ features hand-hammered textures that further enhance the elegant uniqueness of the design. Roberto’s designs are intended to bring happiness, which might explain his use of the gem carnelian, believed to provide energy and foster a sense of humor. Breathtaking nature surrounds the town of Taxco, a muse evident in the designs of NOVICA artisans Nelly Uribe, Oscar Figueroa, and Joaquin and Josefina. The Taxco necklaces in this collection are original in their design, giving you a well-crafted taste of Taxco and its renowned jewelry legacy.
